Girls get Silver at London Youth games

Two teams, one Boys and the other Girls went to Regents Park on Tuesday to represent the Borough in the Disabled football tournament.

The boys managed to win three group games and lost one and just missed out on a quarter final place, but all 10 boys performed really well and with a bit more luck would of gone a bit further.

The Girls on the other hand won all their group matches and marched into the final with some great displays, again the girls looked like they would go on and win the final but a nasty injury to one of the girls seemed to put the players off and Bromley went on to win 1-0.

All the players, Boys and Girls should be proud of the way they played, our coaches who have been training them for the last 6 weeks came back and said it was a great day out and the players were a pleasure to coach and manage.

Well done to you all for representing the Borough.

Is It Man Utd, Is it Liverpool, no it's CAFC

Our friends at CAFC have decided to do away with nearly 100 years of tradition and stop playing in Maroon, they have instead opted for Red for next season.

We also understand that the club have ditched the badge which we both use and go for a more modern look.

We would like to assure all our members and fans that CAJFC have no intention of changing the colour of our kit, We have had 1000s of children playing for us over the years and all have been proud to wear the Maroon shirt of Carshalton Athletic Junior FC

Simply the best, Surrey FA Charter Standard Club of the Year (again) 2009

Carshalton Athletic Junior FC have been awarded the Surrey FA's Charter standard club of the year 2009 for the second year running.

All of us at CAJFC are proud to have received this award and believe that everyone involved in the club deserve this for all the hard work that has gone on in the last year.

Look out soon for a statement from our Secretary Janey Gould.

CAJFC off to Wembley

We have booked a 49 seat coach and have got hold of 49 tickets for the World cup qualifier at Wembley where England face Andorra on 10 June 2009.

This is now SOLD OUT, we managed to sell all the tickets in less than 48 hours.

Lets hope those lucky enough to get a ticket have a great time.

The last year

It is now nearly a year since CAJFC became a truly independent football club.

We are all amazed how well the club have done over the last year, gaining three awards, partnerships with 9 local schools, coaching for Sutton Mencap, running the Carshalton College football team, and running all the football teams for the London Borogh of Sutton at the London youth games, not a bad effort considering we were told a year ago that we would not survive a year as a stand alone club.

Currently we coach over 200 boys and girls and over 30 adults each week with our various clubs and teams.

This has been made possible by the hard work of our coaches and the faith other people have shown in the club.

A special mention must go to Janey Gould who has been involved in the club for 10 years and it is Janey's hard work behind the scenes that keeps the club ticking over.

We are now in a stronger position than we have ever been with an announcement due soon on a new home venue for all our teams to play at from next season things are really looking up.

It is really exciting times at CAJFC and we look forward to offering more football opportunities to people in our community.

New Saturday soccer school for children with special needs

We are proud to announce a new Saturday soccer school for Children with special needs starting on 16 May 2009.

This soccer school will run side by side with our Saturday soccer school for mainstream boys and girls.

We have secured a great new venue for this that has on site parking and refreshments will be available.

Look out in the next week or so for details of this new venture or Email colin@saltravel.co.uk for further information.

CAJFC STATEMENT

Our Saturday soccer school has not been running at Carshalton High School for Girls for a number of weeks due to the ill health of our head coach.

Over these weeks we have had time to rethink our approach to our Saturday soccer school.

We have decided that in the interests of the children in our care and the interests of the wider community that it would be best for all concerned that we moved our Saturday soccer school away from Carshalton High School for Girls, by doing this it will give CAFC the opportunity of using this facility for a soccer school.

Two soccer schools running only yards from each other is not in the best interests of  CAJFC, CAFC or the community.

We asked CAFC if they would meet us to discuss the two clubs moving forward but unfortunately they declined our offer.

We will still use Carshalton High School for Girls on a Sunday and would like to thank them for all the support they have given us.

Colin Loadman

Chairman

CAJFC to run Borough football teams at the London youth games

We are pleased to announce that CAJFC will run four teams to represent the Borough at the London youth games in the summer.

The teams made up of one Boys team, one Girls team, one Boys disabled team and one Girls disabled team.

CAJFC have agreed to take the trials, run training sessions for the four teams and manage them on the day.

CAJFC are proud to be associated with such a great event and are honoured that the Borough asked us to do this.

We have six coaches working on this project on a voluntary basis.

This again shows that we are streets in front of other clubs in what we offer our local community.

Look out here for trial dates.

CAJFC TO OPEN 2ND SOCCER SCHOOL

We are pleased to announce that we will be opening a 2nd soccer school starting in May this year.

Leaflets have gone out to many Schools and we already have over 40 Children signed up to this new soccer school.

Saturday soccer school taking a break

The Saturday soccer school will not be operating for the next couple of weeks.

Please check back soon for details of when we will be starting again.

We lead & others follow

Girls only soccer school

CAJFC to launch Girls only soccer school

We are pleased to announce the launch of a Girls only soccer school from Saturday 07 February 2009.

The school will run from 12-30pm - 2-00pm and the cost will be £3 per session, the venue will be Carshalton High school for girls and is aimed at girls aged 6-15 years and will focus on developing girls of all abilities in the Borough.

This is another first for CAJFC and we are all looking forward to this exciting venture.

Girls football is the fastest growing sport in the UK and we believe that not enough clubs cater for girls, lots of clubs have mixed soccer schools but we believe that we are the first to offer a regular Girls only soccer school in the Borough.

Please check back soon for full details on how to book a space.

CAJFC in the community

CAJFC have joined forces with Sutton Mencap to run coaching sessions for adults with a learning disability, these courses will run every Monday from 4-00pm to 5-30pm at the Phoenix centre, Wallington.

This is a huge step for CAJFC to take but we believe that we should lead the way in working in the community and by taking on projects like this one shows our commitment to the wider community.

CAJFC chairman Colin Loadman said of the link up " we are really proud to be involved with Sutton Mencap and hope that we can encourage more adults with learning disabilities to come along and enjoy our coaching sessions" he also added "Andy Maciel will be running these sessions, We believe that Andy has what it takes to take these sessions to another level.

Happy New Year to you all.

CAJFC to open more soccer schools

After taking on board a number of new coaches CAJFC are proud to announce that we will be running a number of soccer schools across the borough from early next year.

Our rivals have spent the last six months playing catch up with us but we intend to stay one step ahead of them all the way.

Other soccer schools claim to be the biggest but we at CAJFC are not interested in being the biggest, all we are interested in is the enjoyment of the children in our care.

Look out in the New Year for details of our new soccer schools.

CAJFC simply the best

CAJFC nominated for another award

The club are pleased and honoured to announce that the London Borough of Sutton has nominated us for the Pro-Active London awards for Sport and Physical Activity Club of the Year.

This shows that CAJFC is still going forward with new ideas, is still committed to the community and still one step ahead of our rivals who are playing catch up with us.

CAJFC will continue to lead and hope other clubs will follow our lead to make football a great experience for ALL in the local community.

Mark Hudson steps down

Mark Hudson has decided to step down from all involvement with CAJFC due to other work commitments.

We are obviously sad to lose Mark but understand his reasons for doing this, mark was instrumental in the growth of CAJFC, he started off two years ago with a mandate to create a Junior section that would be the envy of every other club and looking at what we have achieved in the last year it is obvious that Mark not only achieved this but has helped to put CAJFC at the top of the tree.

Mark said of his departure " I am very proud to be part of what CAJFC achieved over the last two years and even more so this season" he also added " I know I leave the club in a very healthy state and in good hands"

Colin Loadman CAJFC chairman said " Mark has been a great inspiration to us all at CAJFC and we wish him all the best in whatever he does".

Andy Maciel Joins CAJFC

We are pleased to announce that Andy Maciel has Joined CAJFC, Andy will be involved in our School coaching programme and will also be involved in our Girls only soccer school. Andy was previously the Head Coach for Carshalton Athletic U18s team. CAJFC chairman Colin Loadman said " We are delighted to have Andy onboard and with our ever increasing workload of school  and community work I am sure we will keep him busy"

Andy will start in January on a project that we have agreed to run, this project will show that not only does CAJFC provide a great service to Junior football it is also committed to football for the wider community, more details on this project in the New year.

Once again we would like to welcome Andy to CAJFC and hope our partnership will be a long one.

We are now taking bookings for the Saturday soccer school which will resume on 10 January 2009, We have introduced a special price of £20 for 10 sessions which is cheaper than any soccer school in the borough but please bear in mind that just because we are cheap we will still offer the same high level of coaching we have before
